The Atlantic bluefin tuna market price

On 31 October in Cetara, bluefin tuna prices were reported to have collapsed, and the market was becoming increasingly difficult for Italian fishermen. In Italy, two thirds of fishing quotas were already held by circuizioni, and the government had further increased quotas. In the United Kingdom, up to 30 boats were authorised to fish bluefin tuna in 2026, with four tonnes each. In Avilés, two bluefin tuna weighing about 400 kilos in total were auctioned, with the Asturian fleet using a new incidental catch quota to market them.
