Deli meats held nearly still: the nine indexed materials averaged -0.2% over three months and -1.2% over a year as of 4 November 2026, with five up and four down. The family's 11 materials range from cured and cooked ham to sausages, fats and cooked snail meat; two of them have no index.
Gains were small with one exception: cooked snail meat rose 5.1% over three months and 8.8% over a year. Lard added 2.8%, and 2.1% on the year. Pork sausage, chorizo and salami were close to flat, at +0.2% to +0.3%.
Dry-cured ham fell the most, down 3.5% over three months and 7.8% over a year. Lardons and pancetta lost 2.5% each over the quarter and are 4.8% lower on the year. Cooked ham eased 1.7%, and 2.2% over twelve months.
The ham note, up to 2 November, reports retail price cuts in early October. On 7 October in Fürth, NORMA announced permanent cuts on sausage and ham products, and Lidl announced nationwide cuts on its own-brand Dulano range the same day. Aldi followed with permanent reductions on 9 October.
The lard note, which runs to 5 October, says Ukrainian lard prices were still falling as of 25 July and that Ukraine had raised its imports of lard and animal fats by 21 August. According to the pork sausage note, tighter EU rules on smoked products were reported on 13 October to threaten Guémené andouille producers in Brittany.
Poultry sausage and shredded beef have no index. For poultry sausage, the notes list several salmonella recalls in France in October, including raw Medina poultry sausages on 20 October and fresh Fontalbat Mazars duck sausages on 30 October.
