Poultry is the weakest corner of the meat group. Its 26 indexed materials fell 2.7% on average over the quarter ending 4 November 2026, and they are 2.2% lower over a year. Nineteen declined, one was unchanged, and the six that rose are all duck products. The family has 27 materials, from chicken and turkey cuts to offal and fat.
Duck fat topped the family, rising 4.9% in three months and 10.6% in a year, the family's best annual reading. Duck gained 4.8%, duck foie gras 2.8% and duck breast 2.0%. Duck leg was the one duck line to slip, by 0.5%.
Turkey and chicken cuts took the losses. Turkey leg dropped 16.6%. Upper thigh, listed as upper chicken stir-fry, lost 13.7% and is also down 15.8% on the year, the deepest annual fall here. Turkey is 5.6% lower on both horizons.
Wing pieces, chicken wing drumette and chicken wing flat, lost 8.8% each, chicken drumstick 7.8% and chicken thigh 6.4%. The two wing cuts also share a 13.2% annual drop. Broad chicken eased only 1.4%, and hen was unchanged.
Duck carries most of the news. France saw three avian flu outbreaks in one week on 11 September, the notes report, and a fire at a duck processing plant in the Gers on 29 October that put staff on indefinite temporary layoff. A new national HPAI duck vaccination campaign was reported on 17 October.
On chicken, Thai prices fell on 29 October as Japan turned to more processed imports from China, and the EU suspended Brazilian poultry and beef imports over antimicrobial compliance on 21 October. For turkey, USDA reported steady frozen whole-turkey prices and light demand on 23 October.
