Laminates rose, blisters slipped and composite cans fell: that is the three-month picture for composite & multilayer packaging as of 4 November 2026. Across the nine materials the average comes to +0.2% over three months and +7.2% over a year, with three gains, six declines and no unchanged index over the quarter.

Laminate pouches & films gained 1.3% over three months and 11.3% over a year, and laminate pouches and sachet / stick-packs match those figures exactly. They are the family's only three-month risers and its three largest annual gains, well above the family's annual average of 7.2%.

Blisters & clamshells eased 0.2% over three months, as did blister packs, while clamshells lost 0.3%, the third-largest fall in the family. All three remain higher over a year, by 8.0% for the line and for blister packs and 7.9% for clamshells.

Composite cans & tubes and composite cans both fell 0.8% over three months, more than any other material in the family, and they are the only two materials in the family lower than a year ago, at -0.6%. Laminate tubes dipped just 0.1% over the quarter, the family's smallest decline, and are up 8.1% on the year.

Against packaging as a whole, the family trails over three months, +0.2% against +0.4%, but runs ahead over a year, +7.2% against +5.7%. There is no dated market note for any of these materials, so the split between laminates, blisters and composite cans is reported without explanation.

Included are laminate pouches and sachets, stick-packs, blister packs and clamshells, composite cans and laminate tubes. Over twelve months, seven of the nine are up, all by 7.9% or more.
