As of 4 November 2026, LiveQuote tracks 59 herbs, condiments and spices, 51 of them with an index. On average they are 2.0% higher over three months and 3.7% higher over a year. Rises clearly outnumber falls, 39 to 12, yet most of the moves are small. The group splits into three families: aromatic herbs, seasonings and spices.
Seasonings are the strongest family over three months at +3.0%, with eight up and five down, and +4.3% over a year. Spices average +2.0%, in line with the group, with the most one-sided split, 24 rises against 4 falls, but only +1.8% on the year. Aromatic herbs barely moved over three months (+0.8%) yet show the best annual gain, 8.3%.
Pepper stands well apart, up 22.1% over three months and 24.6% over a year, by far the largest rise in the group. Most of the other chilli materials in the spice family, such as Ancho and Guajillo, gained just 0.8%, and Jalapeño is a distant second at +6.4%.
Onions lift the seasonings average. Yellow onion rose 13.5% and small white onion 9.7%, the latter also 21.5% up on the year. Ukrainian onion prices rose on 30 October for the first time since mid-summer, market notes reported, and on 31 October Polish growers faced competition from Dutch onions.
The falls are shallow. Shallot slipped 2.7%, curly parsley 2.6%, parsley 2.4% and cumin 2.2%. Cumin's note describes a firm Indian market all the same: in Unjha, cumin reached a one-year high on 28 October amid rising export demand and tightening supplies. Among herbs, oregano leads with +4.0% over three months and +22.3% over a year, the best annual figure in its family.
