Whole eggs are up, whites and yolks are down. On figures to 4 November 2026, the nine egg products, all with a public index, show a mean move of -0.7% over three months and -2.8% over one year, with three materials higher and six lower. The family covers whole eggs, egg whites and egg yolks, each in standard, barn and free-range versions.
Egg gained 2.3% over three months, free-range egg 1.7% and barn egg 0.8%. On the year, all three are clearly lower, at -9.9%, -9.0% and -7.4%, the deepest annual falls in the family. The gap between production systems is narrow on both periods.
The egg notes focus on Poland. On 17 October, free-range egg prices there were holding their level while cage eggs were getting cheaper, and producers' purchase prices had been falling for months as production costs rose, mainly because of more expensive feed. Polish quotations on 22 October showed cage eggs, especially classes M and S, much cheaper than a year earlier.
Egg whites move as one: egg white, free-range egg white and barn egg white are down 0.8% over three months and up 0.6% over a year. Yolks are weaker, with egg yolk, free-range egg yolk and barn egg yolk all 2.9% lower over three months and 0.2% lower over a year.
Trade flows feature too. A market note reports that imports of egg equivalent from Turkey into the European Union and the United Kingdom rose very steeply in the first half of 2026. Polish egg exports and imports were both growing rapidly, according to a 13 October report. Across the dairy group, which is up 2.2% on average over three months, egg products are the only family in decline.
