Watermelon is the only material in the Other fruits family with a public LiveQuote index as of 4 November 2026, so its moves, +69.6% over three months and +26.5% over one year, are also the family's averages. The other seven, quince, soursop, two figs, red rhubarb, prickly pear and sambucus, are followed through dated market notes only.
Watermelon news centred on Spain and Morocco. A 26 October report said Spain had bought more Moroccan watermelon while paying less in total. In Morocco, Tata banned watermelon cultivation outside oases and Zagora imposed new conditions. In Brazil, September exports from Chapada do Apodi far exceeded August's volume but were below the level of a year earlier.
For quince, the harvest in the Subbética cordobesa was reported sharply down on 28 September, with March frosts cited, and by 26 October the Puente-Genil campaign was coming to an end. For prickly pear, cochineal was spreading among cacti on Formentera on 23 September, and in Tunisia the Kasserine harvest had collapsed in August under cochineal pressure.
Figs come in two lines. For black fig, extreme heat hit the harvest in Lézan on 23 August, with a large part reported lost, while in Lleida heat had brought the harvest forward, according to a 26 August item. The green fig note covers Turkish dried figs, with FOB prices stable on 24 October alongside a record crop.
For sambucus, or elderberry, a large share of the Styrian harvest was reported lost to heat on 15 August. Red rhubarb ended its season with quiet buying and stable prices, according to the note current to 2 November. In Far North Queensland, only a small amount of soursop was available to harvest on 23 October.
