Mean of the LiveQuote indexes of 19 materials, as of 4 November 2026.

Seventeen of the 19 closures & dispensing materials rose over three months as of 4 November 2026, for an average gain of 0.4%, and 3.9% on the year. Capsules lead with +2.2% over three months and +10.7% on the year.

ROPP caps follow at +1.2%, then coffee capsules at +0.7% and crown caps and induction seals at +0.5%. Caps & lids, plastic lids, screw caps and beverage closures all added 0.4%, plastic caps 0.3% and snap-on lids 0.2%. Flip-top caps and droppers gained just 0.1%.

The two fallers are cap liners, down 0.8%, and cork, down 0.3%. Cap liners are nonetheless the family's largest annual riser at +16.9%, ahead of seals & liners at +14.0%. Dispensing runs the other way on the year: dispensing (pumps, sprayers), pumps and trigger sprayers rose 0.4% over three months but are down 2.4% over twelve. Crown caps are down 2.3% on the year.

Tax is the theme of the caps & lids note, dated 2 November. Germany was reported on 21 October to be planning a plastic-packaging levy from July 2027, and a 6 October report named films, lids and closures among the packaging concerned, with manufacturers and importers paying the tax.

For coffee capsules, the note of the same date reports that New York coffee futures rebounded sharply on 6 October and that capsule sales grew in Greece. Milan launched a collection and recycling scheme for aluminium coffee capsules on 29 October, and La Valsabbia was described on 21 October as the first to adopt EU rules on separate capsule collection.

Caps, lids and capsules, beverage closures from crown caps to cork and ROPP, pumps, sprayers and droppers, and seals and liners all fall within closures & dispensing.
