Green vegetables rose without exception over the three months to 4 November 2026: all six indexed materials are higher, for an average of +7.2%, well ahead of the 4.1% for the vegetables group. The one-year gain is 12.5%. The family covers seven materials: lettuce, rocket, lamb's lettuce, spinach, green bean, flageolet bean and endive, six of them with a three-month index.
Rocket leads at +15.0% over three months and +15.8% over a year. Green bean follows at +11.8% and has the family's largest annual gain, 27.5%. Breton green bean producers called the drought year catastrophic on 7 August, citing rising costs and asking major retailers to reassess prices.
Lettuce added 6.6% over three months and 25.5% over a year. On 12 October, lettuce prices began falling in central and southern Italy as leafy-vegetable production resumed with milder October weather, market notes reported. In Singapore on 23 October, regional haze disrupted vegetable imports, with wholesalers reporting reduced supplies and higher prices.
Spinach rose 6.2% over three months and is 7.8% up on the year. South Korean spinach prices increased after heatwave conditions, according to reports dated 10 August and 22 September. In Austria on 21 October, several farmers had stopped sowing winter spinach and Ardo planned to close its food plant.
Flageolet bean (+2.0%) and endive (+1.9%) moved little over three months, though endive is still 10.1% higher than a year ago. On the Belgian market, endive prices were still described as dramatic on 13 October after a year of extremely low prices, with slight oversupply. Lamb's lettuce has no three-month figure and is 2.0% lower on the year, the only annual decline in the family.
