Mean of the LiveQuote indexes of 18 materials, as of 4 November 2026.

Pulses ended the three months to 4 November 2026 unchanged on average, at 0.0%, yet the family is 5.7% lower over a year, the deepest annual fall of any vegetable family, while the group gained 8.3%. Twelve of its 18 indices rose over three months and six fell. The family takes in beans, lentils, chickpea, split peas, peas, snow peas and sugar snap peas.

Beans did the lifting. Black bean, pinto bean and red bean each gained 3.1% over three months, while staying 0.2% below a year ago. Black and pinto beans were reported in short supply this year on 25 September, and on 21 October news from Durango cited reduced supplies in the United States and limited domestic inventories.

White bean rose 2.9% and bean 1.5%, but both remain down on the year, by 5.7% and 6.3%. On 30 October, the Tarbais bean harvest was reported sharply reduced by drought, with customers rushing in. UK red-bean new-crop supply was tight on 23 October, with prices stable to firm.

Lentils are all lower. Green lentils and brown lentils lost 3.5% over three months and 10.6% over a year; coral lentils, white lentils and Beluga lentils slipped 2.9% and are 12.2% down on the year. On the wider lentil market, imported masoor supported prices despite ample supply on 29 October, while a Cuenca farmer said that day Castilian lentils were paid very low prices.

Chickpea posted the family's sharpest falls: -10.5% over three months and -15.4% over a year. Peas held up: pea +1.4%, green peas +2.1%, split peas +1.6%, the last still 10.6% down on the year. On 30 October, India's green pea market was tightening as the Canadian crop fell and import prices rose.
