Pallets set the pace in transport & load-securing. European pallets and block / display pallets both gained 1.8% in the three months to 4 November 2026, and both are up 9.7% over a year, moving in step. They post the family's two largest three-month gains.
No material in the family lost ground over the quarter: five rose and one was flat, for an average of +0.9%. That is the strongest three-month move of any packaging family, against +0.4% for the group as a whole. Over twelve months the family is up 9.8%, against 5.7% for all packaging.
Crates & totes rose a more modest 0.5% over three months but post the family's largest annual gain, 10.5%. Plastic crates and returnable totes (RPC) show exactly the same figures. Annual moves across the six materials sit in a narrow band, from +8.2% to +10.5%.
Plastic pallets did not move over three months; over a year they gained 8.2%, the weakest annual figure among the six. Their market note, dated 2 November, reports the UK launch of a lightweight plastic pallet on 21 August and, on 21 October, a recycling plant in Pravia, northern Spain, producing plastic for pallets, bottles and trays.
The same note covers the wider pallet market. UFP Packaging acquired Apache Products in Silsbee, Texas, to expand its pallet production capacity. In Spain, FER, Genci and Anrepa agreed to support compliance with packaging extended producer responsibility obligations, with particular attention to pallets.
Pallets of the EUR, block and plastic kinds make up half of the family; plastic crates, returnable totes and the crates & totes line make up the rest. Each of the six lines stands higher than a year earlier.
