Mean of the LiveQuote indexes of 12 materials, as of 4 November 2026.

Cabbage prices split down the middle in the three months to 4 November 2026: six indices rose and six fell, leaving the family average at +0.6%, well short of the 4.1% for vegetables overall. The one-year picture is firmer, with the family up 10.7% against 8.3% for the group. Its 13 materials range from white, red and green cabbage to broccoli and kohlrabi, plus three artichoke lines.

Artichoke is the outlier at +34.3% over three months. News reported heavy losses in Brittany's artichoke crops on 22 August, and on 2 September artichoke prices in Ukraine were rising due to a poor harvest. The other two artichoke lines did not follow: artichoke heart and artichoke bottom each slipped 1.9%, and both are 2.9% lower than a year ago.

Among cabbages, Chinese cabbage gained 7.4%, red cabbage 6.7%, green cabbage 6.6% and white cabbage 2.1%. Reports dated 22 to 24 September linked firm red and white cabbage prices to market consolidation and a dry summer. Yet on 12 October Polish wholesale white cabbage prices were still low, with limited storage capacity and uncoordinated grower sales adding pressure.

Broccoli fell furthest, down 16.3%, followed by kale at -13.3%, kohlrabi at -11.8% and cauliflower at -5.1%. All four remain up on the year, cauliflower by 15.1%. A note dated 7 October reported rising cauliflower prices at Bronisze, where lower temperatures were limiting open-field growth and reducing supply.

Romanesco cabbage barely moved (+0.9%). Brussels sprouts have no three-month figure but are 25.7% higher than a year ago; Dutch Brussels sprout cultivation was reported unaffected by drought on 16 September. In Dutch retail, broccoli prices rose in week 42 after falling in week 41.
