Every one of the seven stalk and branch vegetables tracked by LiveQuote is higher over the three months to 4 November 2026. The family averages +5.0%, ahead of the 4.1% for vegetables overall, and its one-year gain of 18.6% is the largest of any vegetable family. Its seven materials are chard, white and green asparagus, celery, celery stalk, fennel and leek.
Chard leads over three months at +8.0%, yet it has the smallest annual rise in the family, 8.3%, behind even the two celery lines. White asparagus and green asparagus each gained 7.3% over three months and 28.6% over a year. The notes describe thin supply from several origins: in Fresno, asparagus supplies were called very light on 27 August.
On 20 July, Germany's 2026 asparagus and strawberry harvests were reported as the lowest in decades. By week 36, Peru had shipped fewer fresh asparagus boxes to the EU than a year earlier; Mexican supplies were tightening on 1 October, and US asparagus prices rose during September.
Leek added 4.7% over three months and has the family's largest annual gain, 29.1%. A leek shortage was reported at the Nantes wholesale market (MIN) on 30 August, and French leek yields were reported down on 2 September. In Belgium, heat and drought were putting leek cultivation under pressure, news reported on 27 August.
Celery rose 3.0% and celery stalk 2.8%. Fennel gained only 1.6% over three months but is 16.7% higher on the year. On 13 October, celery could become scarce in Tierras Altas, where rains were affecting lettuce, celery and carrot production; in California, celery prices were trending lower on 19 August amid light demand.
